6. How does a junior player become a rep player?
To become a representative player, one must play tournaments.

Taranaki Representative Play
Selection is based on New Zealand Ranking and local tournament play among other things.
Go to the Taranaki Tennis Association to find the current selection policy:
Taranaki Tennis Selection Policy
Tennis Central Representative Play
Age group (12s, 14s and 16s) regional teams are selected once a year for the National Teams Event in January held right before or after that age group's Nationals tournament.
Selections for the Tennis Central Teams are based on the National Points Race which is found on the Grading List website, 4th tab from the left.
The National Points Race records junior tournament results only.
Refer to the Tennis Central Selection policy:
2017-18 Tennis Central Selection Policy
To find the list of tournaments that qualify for the National Points Race, go to the Tennis  Zealand website:
Tennis New Zealand Points Race
The New Zealand Points Race also determines who will get to compete in the New Zealand Juniors Masters a closed age group tournament played at Labour Weekend.
